Title  Resident Assistant

Reports to  St. Joseph Nurse Coordinator 

Position Description:

This Emergency Call Back (ECB) position assists the St. Joseph Nurse with all duties to provide continuity of care for the residents and daily operations of Saint Joseph Residence.

Key Tasks

- Assist with implementation of resident individual care plan
- Assist and/or responsible for meal preparation and serving of meals, food storage, cleaning of kitchen and dining room
- Housekeeping, laundry and other related tasks
- Accurately complete patient records on a daily basis
- Maintains operations by using proper channels in reporting problems, maintaining equipment, assisting with general environmental maintenance
- Provide a safe, healthy, clean environment and manage activities of daily living
- Teach and assist with activities of daily living
- Report significant changes in patient condition to Nurse in a timely manner
- Duties as assigned

Key Skills

- Strong understanding of Catholic social teaching
- CNA, CMA, LTA, or HHA preferred but not required
- Speak, read and write English
- At least 18yrs old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Food Handler permit and CPR
- Annual negative TB test
- Medication Administration Training-annual renewal
- Near sight acuity to perform assigned tasks
- Ability to perform assigned tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting, bending and prolonged standing
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Personal hygiene and attire appropriate for health care facility
