Catholic Charities’ Mission
The mission of Catholic Charities is to bring Christ’s merciful love to those who suffer in our midst. Our mission is carried out by Catholic people and others in fraternal goodwill pooling their resources to reach out and assist those in need. In so doing, Catholic Charities is the primary instrument of the Church in carrying out the works of mercy.
Catholic Charities’ Values
Catholic Charities helps those in need without regard to their religion, race or country of origin. We value all human life, and we treat each person we serve with respect and dignity. We are a major provider of social and human services to tens of thousands each year in Eastern Oklahoma.
Funding Sources
We receive no funding from the Diocesan Development Fund or from the United Way. The programs operated by Catholic Charities are almost entirely funded by individual donations from the good people of eastern Oklahoma. 2% comes from federal funding, and approximately 10% of income represents gifts from foundations. The result is a highly dynamic organization that is a reflection of the values of our donors.
